Before Andrew and I ever dated, we were friends.For years we shared conversations, laughs, and time together as part of the same circle. We knew each other’s personalities, sense of humor, and quirks long before we ever considered that there might be something more. Somewhere along the way, without either of us really planning it, our friendship quietly changed.We didn’t announce it. We didn’t even rush to define it. Instead, we kept it to ourselves for a while. What started as spending a little extra time together turned into talking every day, checking in on each other first, and realizing we were the person the other one wanted to share everything with. We were secretly dating long before anyone knew, and in that quiet season we built something incredibly strong.By the time we finally told our friends, the truth was simple: we were already sure.Our relationship was never about a dramatic beginning. It was about comfort, trust, and choosing each other naturally. Andrew is steady and grounding, endlessly patient, and the person who can make me laugh no matter the situation. He supports me, cares deeply for my children, and shows up every day with kindness and consistency.Together we love the simple things just as much as the big ones: dinners at home, time with family and friends, traveling, celebrating milestones, and getting through life’s challenges side by side. We built a foundation as friends first, and that friendship is still the center of our relationship.The proposal was unforgettable, but our commitment had already been growing for a long time. We are incredibly lucky to have so many close friends and loved ones in our lives that choosing a traditional wedding party just felt impossible. Instead, all of our besties will be celebrating alongside us, dressed in coordinated colors and joining us for photos and special moments throughout the day.The two most important roles, however, belong to our kids. Amy’s Maid of Honor will be her sweet daughter, Gia, and Andrew’s Best Man will be Amy’s son, Tyson. Having them stand beside us makes this day even more meaningful as we officially become one family. 🩷
